Ukraine will not be able to fully defend their interests in the Donbass, said the German Ambassador.
The Ambassador of Germany in Ukraine, Ernst Reichel said that Ukraine in the framework of the Minsk agreements for Donbass can not fully defend its position. The diplomat said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
“Ukraine in this conflict, which is governed by the Minsk agreements, can not 100% to defend their interests and needs to make certain concessions”, – he said.
Reichel also stressed that Germany expects all sides, including from Ukraine, a constructive and intensive work on implementation of the Minsk arrangements, full cease-fire, withdrawal of heavy weapons and the implementation of a political settlement reached in Minsk.
“We firmly believe that for Ukraine it is much better to have the Minsk agreement and to execute them than to be in a situation when Russia has no agreements. And I was glad when the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko confirmed this during his speech in Parliament,” said Reichel.
The diplomat also expressed support for Poroshenko, who clearly stands in the position of the full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
