As a result of clashes between protesters and police in Baghdad killed at least four people, another 90 were injured.
“At least four protesters were killed and 90 injured after security forces opened fire on the crowd, which broke the “green zone” in Baghdad”, – stated in the message.
As noted, Iraqi security forces fired live ammunition, rubber bullets, water cannons and tear gas to expel protesters from a Central area in which are situated the government buildings, Parliament and many foreign embassies.
As reported in the Central Baghdad morgue, the cause of the four deaths was gunshot wounds, and not asphyxiation caused by tear gas.
Civilians violated the so-called “green zone” twice within three weeks, says the Agency.
The protesters, including supporters of the influential Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, demanding that the government make anti-corruption reforms and to take care of citizens ‘ security amid a series of explosions that gave the “Islamic state” in the course of a month.
Sadr issued a statement in support of the protesters and condemned the methods of force impact of power on people.
For its part, the Prime Minister of Iraq Haider al-Abadi condemned the violation of the “green zone” and warned against chaos and unrest, stating that “the law is valid for any intruder.”
The United Nations expressed “deep concern” over the incident, warning that it may complicate efforts to combat ISIS.
