In Yerevan, during the attack on the building of the regiment of the patrol killed one and injured three police officers. As reported AMI “news-Armenia”, a group of armed men, supporters of the arrested leader of radical opposition movement in Armenia Zhirayr Sefilyan on Sunday morning seized the building of the regiment patrulno-sentry duty on the outskirts of Yerevan.
The main demand of the armed people for the liberation of a Sefilyan, who is in custody in a criminal case on the fact of illegal storage of the weapon. He was arrested on 23 June for a period of two months. He is charged with attempted armed seizure of the Yerevan TV tower.
On the morning of the national security Service of Armenia issued a statement which States that distributed media and social media disinformation about the beginning of the armed uprising and the seizure of buildings and structures is absolutely untrue.

According to eyewitnesses, the armed men got inside the building regiment of patrol police, rammed an iron gate with a truck. Residents of the houses located near the police building, were evacuated. Law enforcement agencies pulled together additional forces and special equipment.
Deputy head of Armenian police Hunan Poghosyan said that the person who seized the building are forced to hold hostages, all of them police officers. He also said that among the attackers there were no injuries. He confirmed that among hostages – Deputy head of Yerevan police Valery Osipian. According to Poghosyan, from the first minute with armed men under negotiation, they persuaded to abandon criminal intentions and surrender to the authorities, otherwise they will be irrelevant.
According to him, the police still hoped to solve the problem through negotiations. “Their only requirement is that the release of Zhirayr Sefilyan, other requirements they have,” added the Deputy chief of the Armenian police. Responding to a question about whether this requirement is fulfilled, Poghosyan replied in the negative.
