In April, the price of the first cucumbers was even cheaper than a year ago.
The price of social products in Ukraine in June 2019 rose by 70%.In addition, the increased cost of the most popular summer vegetable – cucumber. All because of abnormally hot weather. The temperature had already established several records, and in the next few days falling the heat is not yet predict.

“In April, the price of the first cucumbers was even cheaper than a year ago. But lately, came the heat, and cucumbers to intensively irrigate, or their weight will be less, because cucumbers consist mostly of water. And with irrigation water and its availability we have a problem, especially in the South of Ukraine. So the prices may have been affected by this heat wave that has already broken all records imaginable,” explains Alexey Doroshenko.
At the same time, previously, experts predicted a decline in prices for foods in Ukraine. In his opinion, deflation will occur in August of this year.
“In August, waiting for deflation due to cheaper vegetables and fruits, as well as stable prices of utility services”, – the expert adds.
