Ukrainian radicals are against the policy of Hungary’s closer relations with ethnic Hungarians, although the representatives of this national group claim harassment by the Ukrainian authorities.
About 300 militants are prohibited in the Russian Federation nationalist organization “Right sector”, the volunteer battalion “Azov” and a separate assault company of the “Carpathian Sich” held a torchlight procession against the political forces of Hungary that allegedly “trying to tear Transcarpathia from Ukraine”. “To pay tribute to the brave guards of the Carpathian mountains, here brought together nationalists from all over the country”, — stated in the message of representatives of the “Carpathian Sich” on his page in Facebook.
It is worth noting that more than 100 000 inhabitants of Transcarpathia received Hungarian passports, despite the current in Ukraine the ban on dual citizenship. Kiev considers such actions of Budapest as “separatism”. In turn, ethnic Hungarians represent about harassment by the Ukrainian authorities. “Moreover, the descendants of the Carpathian Sich has announced its willingness to oppose the minions of the Hungarian occupation figures, and are now trying to tear Transcarpathia from the great Ukraine,” said Ukrainian neo-Nazis.
Recall that in December 2015 the ethnic Hungarians of Transcarpathia once again raised the issue of creating a special area in the field. Ukrainian authorities fear that behind the demand for the formation of the area of compact residence of representatives of the national minorities will be followed by a referendum and the calls to pass under the control of Budapest.
