The accident killed one worker and injured five others.

As noted, Governor Robert Bentley on Tuesday declared a state of emergency for the state due to the explosion and fire.

“The state of emergency declared from 1 November 2016 to 1 December 2016”, – stated in the message.

Note, the incident happened near Birmingham, the emergency services carried out the evacuation of local residents within a radius of 3 km from the explosion on the gas pipeline. The accident killed one worker and injured five others. It is also reported that this segment of the pipeline suspended the transportation of gas. According to media reports, in September close to this site there has been a gas leak.
