Arrested face charges of drug trafficking, extortion and illegal gambling, reports The New York Times.
According to investigators, the group consisted of nine members, but delay has only managed eight, one is on the run. For several years the gang was engaged in extortion, racketeering and trafficking in cocaine on Coney island and Brighton beach.
As reported by Federal prosecutors, all members of the gang were officially unemployed, however, led a luxurious life, had expensive cars and accounts for thousands of dollars. First of all, says the New York Post, the arrested funds received from the extortion of the citizens living outside the United States, which were threatened with reprisals against their family in America.
The media give the names of the arrested: Leonid Gershman, Alex Flowers (which, as noted, in 2005, had already been arrested and deported to Ukraine, but later was allowed to return to the United States, as Flowers said that he was subjected to torture when they return home), Renat Yusufov, Igor Round, Vaclav Malkeev, ISOC Aronov, Yusif Pandilov and Librado river.
