Diplomats urged to use against Assad’s missiles, UAVs and aircraft.
More than 50 diplomats from the U.S. state Department signed a Memorandum criticizing the policy of the administration of President Barack Obama against Syria, calling for military strikes at the regime of Bashar al-Assad.
This is stated in the copy of the document at the disposal of the newspaper the New York Times.
The signatories of the Memorandum, including diplomats of high and medium grade, have concluded that American policy has stalled because of the continuing violence in Syria and calling for “reasonable use of weapons used out of range of the weapons, and means of air attack that, in their opinion, “will strengthen and ensure a more focused and pragmatic diplomatic process under US leadership”.
Diplomats, in particular, proposes to use against the forces of Assad missiles, drones and if necessary, aircraft.
The state Department spokesman John Kirby acknowledged that his office indeed received from a group of diplomats message, in which he expressed disagreement with Obama’s policy in Syria, however, refused to inform about its content.
In turn, Secretary of state John Kerry said on 17 June that he had not seen the letter, but respects the opinion of diplomats and discuss their treatment when I return to Washington.
