The Russians have less confidence in the media reports about the state of the national economy. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by Fund “Public opinion”.

According to the survey, 46% of Russians believe that media biased coverage of the situation in the Russian economy. 32% of respondents with this opinion is not agreed. More than half of Russians (61%) believe that journalists give an incomplete picture of the economy, three times less (20%) of those who believe the opposite.

In total, from August 2015, the proportion distrusting the media, the Russians increased from 41 to 51%, while the number of trusts decreased from 47 to 40%.
Another 46% of respondents emphasized that the real economic situation in the country worse than it is reported. 28% called it true, and 7% believe that journalists in coverage of economic issues exaggerate information.

The sociological data show that last year the demand for information about the state of the national economy fell. Watching the economic news, 30% of Russians (it is 12% less than the results of August 2015). While 62% of respondents perceive them. A year earlier the figure was recorded at 54%.

More than half of Russians said about the lack of interest to changes in the exchange rate (56%), another 43% said that they are interested in this topic. 68% of the respondents recognized that exchange rate fluctuations affect their lives. Because the growth rate of the national currency has a positive effect on the economy, did even half of Russians (52%), favor the depreciation of the ruble against the dollar and the Euro said 17%.
