The accident did not cause environmental damage.
Research nuclear reactor in the South of Norway has been a radioactive leak. Radioactive iodine leaked from the reactor at Institute for energy technology in Halden.
The Norwegian radiation protection authority said that the incident will not damage the environment outside of the reactor.
The leak occurred due to “technical failure in the processing of fuel in the reactor hall”. All present employees were evacuated.
Radioactive iodine, also known as I-131, used in small doses to treat thyroid cancer.
