In Nagorno-Karabakh escalated military conflict.
The Azerbaijani defence Ministry said on Sunday that the Armenian side per night 20 times violated the ceasefire regime on the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh
“Despite the earlier agreement reached on the ceasefire at the line of contact in Karabakh, the Armenian side violated the regime all along the line 20 times per day”, — said the press service of the Ministry.
Armenia and Azerbaijan on 2 April, said the worsening situation in the zone of Karabakh conflict: Azerbaijani defense Ministry said, in particular, about the attacks by the armed forces of Armenia, the Armenian defense Ministry reported about “offensive action” from the Azerbaijani side. The parties to the conflict on 5 April announced a ceasefire.
The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh began in February 1988 when Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous oblast declared its withdrawal from Azerbaijan SSR. In September 1991, in the centre of Nagorno-Karabakh Stepanakert it has been declared creation of Nagorno-the Karabakh Republic (NKR). Azerbaijan during the subsequent military conflict have lost control over Nagorno-Karabakh. Since 1992 negotiations on peaceful settlement of the conflict within OSCE Minsk group. Azerbaijan insists on maintaining its territorial integrity, Armenia protects interests of unrecognized Republic, because the NKR is not a party to the negotiations.
