The Latvian authorities are preparing a plan for the elimination of education in Russian. The government of Marisa Kuchinskisa (sacs) is already hard at work on the transition to a unified standard of education in the Latvian language in state and municipal schools.
The implementation of the transition plan to start in the near future, reports local portal Delfi with reference to the document. The Declaration States that the Russian language must withdraw before September 1, 2018.
The corresponding obligation is already included in the final draft of the government Declaration. In addition, according to the portal, the government will think about the cancellation of the issuance of residence permits for the purchase of property.
We will remind, earlier in Latvia has closed the Russian-speaking TV channel TV5. His work was stopped for financial reasons. TV5 was one of the few Latvian TV channels that created the information content in Russian language. Channel worked on the air for 15 years.
