Well-known Russian journalist Pavel Sheremet, the last five years working in Ukraine, died in Kiev. The car, which drove Sheremet exploded on the morning of 20 July, reported by his colleagues from “Ukrainian truth”.

Pavel Sheremet, a native of Belarus. Born in Minsk, studied in the Belarusian state University and the notable University. In July 1997, during a survey report about the situation on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, was arrested by officers of power structures of Belarus on charges of illegal crossing of the state border, in receiving money from foreign intelligence services and illegal journalistic activity. Was sentenced to two years imprisonment and to one year of probation, after prison a total of three months.

Worked on ORT, REN-TV, in the magazine “Ogonek”, “Ukrainian Pravda”, “Vesti”.

Is also one of the founders of the scientific and popular history online edition of “Historical truth”.
