In Hungary men competed in speed and quality of the digging of graves.
In Hungary first held national competitions in grave digging at speed.
Competition gravediggers occurred in the city of Debrecen.
The competition was attended by 18 teams, which consisted of two people.
Gravediggers were assessed not only on speed but also on the style of digging. Also were evaluated appearance grave to be dug. The job consisted of digging a standard grave size of 0.8 to 2 m and depth 1.6 m.
According to the contest rules, only one gravedigger had a right to be in the pit. The contestants were given the usual tools – shovels, picks, axes and crowbars.
The winner was the team that dug the grave the right size in just half an hour.
The Association of undertakers is seeking the introduction for their members psychological support services.
According to organizers, the contest aims to draw attention to the profession of gravedigger, because young people don’t go into this profession, and it is topical.
“We didn’t have to specially prepare for the competition, we’re so busy every day”, – said one of the participants of the competition.
The winners qualified for the next stage of the tournament they will take part in the regional competition, which will be held in Slovakia.
