In France, MPs vote for the abolition of anti-Russian sanctions

Во Франции депутаты голосуют за отмену антироссийских санкций

French politicians want to improve relations with Russia. As reported TASS, 85 of deputies has submitted for vote to the Parliament a draft resolution on the abolition of the EU sanctions against Russia.

The document requires the government not to renew the restrictive measures (until the end of July, the EU should take a decision). “Such a debate on the lifting of sanctions first pass in the National Assembly,” said one of the initiators of this debate, the Deputy from the center-right party “the Republicans” and former Minister, Thierry Mariani.

In his words, “useless and ineffective sanctions against Russia today has become a heavy burden for the French agriculture”. “I call on members to show responsibility and independence in this matter”, – said Mariani.

“The sanctions were adopted after the events in Ukraine,” he said. – However, as it turned out, the sanctions against Russia turned out to be completely ineffective to establish peace in Ukraine. The authorities in Kiev in reality nothing is done for the proper implementation of the Minsk agreements “.

Representatives of the centrists also note that, following the US, France forgot about their own interests, and as a result of counter-sanctions have seriously hurt the French economy.
