In Crimea for two years failed to convert any tourist project

Two years after the annexation of Crimea to Russia on the Peninsula was not implemented any project in the field of tourism infrastructure. This was stated by Deputy head of Federal Agency for tourism Alexey Konyshkov.

In Crimea “a lot of problems linked to the infrastructure” for tourism, he said.

Also with the criticism of the Crimean authorities were represented by first Deputy of Committee of the Federation Council on economic policy Sergey Kalashnikov. He stated that he sees no real change in the development of sanatorium-resort industry of the Crimea and, in particular, work to create a year-round resort.

“I have to state that in two years I have not heard and have not seen any real projects. Tell me, what hotels were open or what else is done? While we’re waiting. Until we have decent placements, respectively, will face problems,” said Konyshkov.

According to the Ministry of resorts and tourism of Crimea, in 2015, the Peninsula was visited by 4.6 million people, 21 percent more than the year before. Representatives of the Russian Union of travel industry (PCT) in early 2016 reported that many Russians who went on vacation in the Crimea, believe that the level of service on the Peninsula leaves much to be desired. In the PCT warned that the summer 2016 season prices on vacation in Crimea could grow by up to 30 percent.

The Federal tourism Agency and Federal service of state statistics in 2015, reported an increase in domestic tourism in line with the decline in the number of Russians traveling abroad, including, because of the ban on holidays in Egypt and Turkey. In 2016, said the head of the Federal tourism Agency Oleg Safonov, the market is expected to grow domestic tourism by 15-30 percent.

Tour operators, in turn, pointed out that the Russians choosing to holiday abroad, not ready to shift to domestic tourism, including due to the lack of infrastructure on the Russian resorts.
