Russia will soon become the target market for Chinese business, said the trade Advisor of the Eurasian Department of the Ministry of Commerce of China, Liu Xuesong.
“China and Russia are good neighbors, partners, friends. In 2015 the trade turnover between China and Russia amounted to 68 billion dollars, including exports – 34,8 billion dollars. However, in the first half of 2016, the volume of trade increased by 1.8% compared with the same period last year and amounted to 31,72 billion dollars. Thus, Russia is among the key trading partners of China moved up from 11th place in 2015 on the 10th”, – he told in interview to the newspaper “Izvestia”.
According to him, the main directions of investment in 2016 from China to Russia related to energy, natural resources, timber industry, production of building materials and trade. For 2015 the total value of the contracts signed between the two countries amounts to $ 20 billion.
“Sino-Russian relations are characterised by complementarities,” said Liu Xuesong, noting the active cooperation at regional and multilateral projects, including in the framework of the SCO. “China and Russia play a leading role in regional cooperation. Currently we are conducting active negotiations on creating a free trade zone within the SCO,” he said.
“Of course, your country for Chinese business is very attractive. On the background of active development of Sino-Russian relations in the near future Russia will become the target market for Chinese business,” said Liu Xuesong.
With the improvement in market conditions and innovation climate in Russia, especially with the pace of implementation of the Russian strategy to promote the development of the Far East, more and more Chinese enterprises coming to Russia with investments, he added.
Earlier this week, the Director of the Department of Europe and Central Asia, the Chinese foreign Ministry GUI Zunyi said that China considers Russia a major and influential world power and builds a relationship based on equality.
