In Canada, the official holiday of Ukrainians

В Канаде появился официальный праздник украинцевIn the canadian province of Alberta proclaimed the Ukrainian, the company introduced the official holiday of Ukrainians on 7 September.

This was announced by Ukraine’s Ambassador to Canada, Andriy Shevchenko.

“They want to cheer up the good news from Alberta. The Parliament of the province voted for Ukrainian Canadian Heritage Day Act. The document declares Ukrainian the year in the province and introduces the annual celebration of the Ukrainians of Alberta – September 7,” – wrote the diplomat.

“Ukrainians made a tremendous contribution to the province of Alberta – first in agriculture, in forestry, on the Railways and in the mines, and later in the government, civil society, industry, economic development and prosperity” – quoted resolution of the Ambassador.

According to him,the introduction of the holiday was the history of the Ukrainian settlers, which this year is celebrating 125 years of immigration.

“I should add that this is the third province of Canada, which in 2016 is declared the year of Ukrainian”, – said the Ukrainian diplomat.
