The Belgian authorities prohibited the holding of child beauty pageant.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of labour of Belgium Chris Peters has banned a beauty pageant for children.
Peters explained that participation in the election mini-miss and mini-mister beauty refers to the legislation on child labour.
“This means that it is forbidden”, – leads edition of the words of Deputy Prime Minister.
According to the labour Inspectorate, the concept of beauty pageants for children is a risk to their physical, mental, moral and social development”.
According to Peters, these competitions are not valid.
Belgium’s first beauty contest for children was scheduled to be held on 21 July in the resort town of De Panne on the North sea coast of Belgium in West Flanders.
