Two female police officers were wounded in the Belgian town of Charleroi.
The assailant shouting “Allahu Akbar” stabbed two police officers in the Belgian city of Charleroi with machetes.
“Two police officers were wounded with machetes in front of the police control of the assailant, who shouted “Allahu Akbar”. This man is wounded, but alive,” police said Charleroi to his official Twitter.
Later in the police Department of the city said that the attacker died of his wounds.
The area around the control currently cordoned off.
“I strongly condemn the attack in Charleroi. My thoughts are with the victims, their relatives and the police. We are closely monitoring the situation”, – wrote in “Twitter” the Prime Minister of Belgium Charles Michel.
The Walloon city was a base to some of the jihadists behind attacks in Paris in November last year and in Brussels in March.
