In Beijing the Museum of Taras Shevchenko opened an art exhibition “Unfading glory. Bow To Taras Shevchenko”.
“The exhibition brings together the Shevchenko works of famous Chinese artists and over 100 original prints of the poet from the collection of the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko in Kiev”.
It is noted that among the exhibits will be calligraphy on the works of Shevchenko, illustrations for the poet, as well as landscapes of modern Ukraine brush Chinese artists.
The report said that the Chinese Shevchenko Museum is located in the South of the capital on the basis of a memorial complex of prominent Chinese artist and poet Lee Kiana. Active part in the founding of the Museum in China”, took the Academy of painting and calligraphy of China, ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, the national Academy of arts of Ukraine, Ukrainian national Academy of arts and the Embassy of Ukraine in China.
Honorary Director of the Museum and a famous Chinese artist Lee Kyung expressed the hope that the Taras Shevchenko Museum will be a convenient platform to create, study and collecting of paintings, sculptures and other works of art related to the Poet. According to him, now the Museum is preparing a permanent exhibition. It will include Shevchenko’s works of artists and photographers of the two countries. The room will function as a gallery in which to exhibit their creativity will not only Chinese, but also Ukrainian masters.
Ambassador of Ukraine to China Oleg Demin at the opening ceremony of the Museum emphasized the important role of the Museum of Shevchenko in the cultural cooperation between the two countries, in particular in the framework of the “Belt and road”.
