In Bangladesh impose restrictions on the number of cars in the family

В Бангладеш введут ограничения на количество авто в семьеMeasures have been taken due to constant traffic jams in Dhaka.

Constant many kilometers of traffic jams in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka, forced the government to take unpopular decisions and to introduce a limitation in the number of cars which may have one family.

As stated by the Minister of road transport Obaidul Quader, most likely, residents will have to settle for two machines.

“A provision limiting the number of cars per family is already included in the draft law on vehicles, which will soon be submitted to Cabinet for final approval and then tabled before Parliament. It is necessary to take urgent measures, because right now Dhaka has become one of the most densely populated cities in the world, and it concerns not only people but also machines, resulting in serious economic and environmental problems”.

According to the Ministry, the growth rate of the fleet of the capital is significantly higher than the national. So, in 2015 in the whole of Bangladesh were registered 21 thousand new private cars, of which 18.5 thousand were put on record in Dhaka.
