General Director of TSNIITOCHMASH Dmitry Semizorov said that in the fall start state tests of the Russian powerful gun, developed by Peter Serdyukov — designer located in the suburban Klimovsk company. State tests should be completed this year, after which a decision will be made about the introduction of the gun into mass production and adopting it to the Russian army. This means that the gun will gradually replace the veteran of the army and the interior Ministry — a Makarov Pistol, which was adopted in 1951.
The new advanced weapons several predecessors: semi-Automatic pistol Serdyukov (PCA), “Vector”, “GURZA”, CP-1. His real name is SR-1MP or “Boa”. With such impressive figures “Vector” as the new “Boa” are of moderate size and weight. With empty the gun weighs 0.9 kg with full magazine — 1,11 kg Length, width and height equal to 196×145×34 mm.

About improvements of the mechanism and barrel “Boa” are not reported. The emergence of a new pistol not only as personal weapons to army officers, but in the interior caused by historical necessity. In the late nineties-the beginning of zero years was established several guns, which to varying degrees attracted the attention of various law enforcement agencies. However, the real claim for the title of “successor” PM only one of them — the Yarygin Pistol (“rook”). He won the tender for the creation of new handguns for the army.
Another participant of the tender — GSH-18 pistol (designers Vasiliy Gryazev and Arkady Shipunov), was created in the Tula instrument design Bureau. Equally used in the military and in law enforcement, including the Prosecutor’s office. Its main advantage is the use of a powerful cartridge 9×19 mm armor-piercing bullet exiting the barrel with a speed of 600 m/s.
Another advantage is the magazine capacity of 18 rounds. However, due to the strong spring manually can equip no more than a dozen rounds. GSH design is extremely original.
