The international football Federation announced the joining of two new members.
At the 40th UEFA Congress in Budapest, the Union of European football associations has endorsed the aspiration of the football Federation of Kosovo to membership in the League. On the eve of the Congress in Mexico city, Kosovo was officially accepted into the ranks of FIFA.
On the vote of the football Federation of Kosovo has received 141 votes, and 23 members of FIFA voted against. A similar decision was taken and on Gibraltar – 172 vs vs 12. By the way, Gibraltar is already a member of UEFA – the new team made their debut in the selection for Euro 2016.
FIFA decision on Kosovo can directly touch the national team of Ukraine. Earlier, former candidate for the presidency of FIFA, Michel Platini promised that Kosovo in the case of inclusion in the organization will participate in the world Cup qualifiers 2018. The local team was planning to add in Group I, where is the national team of Ukraine.
The official position of new President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, on the part of Kosovo and Gibraltar in qualifying for the next world Cup yet.

After the inclusion of Kosovo and Gibraltar in FIFA, the governing body of world football has expanded to 211 national federations.
