G20 summit: Kerry and Lavrov discussed “Minsk-2”

Heads of diplomatic departments of the USA and Russia John Kerry and Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the G20 summit discussed the situation in Ukraine and implementation of Minsk agreements, said on Tuesday state Department spokesman mark Toner.

“The issue of Ukraine was raised at their talks last weekend,” said he, adding that this issue was also addressed by representatives of the United States, Germany and France.
“All parties should focus on the implementation of the Minsk agreements,” — said Toner. According to him, “this is the best way to ensure stability in the region.”

The spokesman also stressed that the U.S. “intend to work with all parties to achieve progress.

The foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation and the United States held two meetings on the sidelines of the G20 summit in China. As reported, the Russian foreign Ministry, at the second meeting Lavrov and Kerry discussed cooperation between the two countries to eliminate the terrorists in Syria and the situation on the Korean Peninsula, Ukraine and Yemen.
