Tea, Grand Bazaar, Istanbul, Turkey

Neat slides of spices floating in the air spicy flavors, the shelves of gold, the luster of which dazzles literally swaying in the wind lanterns, bored on trays dishes… Grand Bazaar — a place that can delight a tourist. It is a vortex that captures instantly a real theatre, disguised as a complex maze of rows. Walk along the shelves is fun, but very tiring, as well as communication with the local (quite catchy) sellers. So just relax and surrender to, say, a carpet dealer who will guide you to your room where you will be served tea. You not only enjoy fragrant drink, but also will witness the spectacle: the seller will throw in front of you carpets, sweeping gestures and turning them with theatrical eloquence praising their goods. This is the most fascinating and informative entertainment of Istanbul, available, also, completely free. Well, only if the seller will not be too convincing…

The Grand Bazaar is open Monday to Saturday, from 9 to 19. Here you can drive on the tram stop Beyazit, Üniversite or Sirkeci.

Museum Te Papa Tongarewa, Wellington, New Zealand

Learn New Zealand, without spending a dime, at the Museum of Te Papa Tongarewa (Te Papa Tongarewa). Well, at least in General terms. At the national Museum of the country, located in a monumental building on one of the embankments of Wellington, exhibited the best works of art that recreated the history of the state, represented by objects of Maori culture. Here countless variety of exhibits: the jade Mace, prostheses for Cycling and even an ancient stone, which is more than 1.4 billion years! Needless to say that the collection looks very exotic and very eclectic. Familiarity with the history of Maori is best to start with the Treaty of Waitangi, and then continue in a marae — a modern building, following the traditional meeting house of the Maori, but it is already adapted for use by different cultures.

Te Papa is open daily, including weekends and holidays, from 10 to 18 (on Thursdays until 19). Details on the website www.tepapa.govt.nz.
