The Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Alexander Tkachev – defendant in the sanctions of the European Union and Ukraine – took part in the meeting of the world organization for animal health in Paris. About it reports a press-service of the Russian authorities.
It is unclear why France made an exception to the EU sanctions adopted after the annexation by Russia Ukrainian Crimea in 2014. Another EU leader, Germany, in January 2016 Tkachev was denied an entry visa, said Radio Liberty.

Name Tkachev appeared in the sanctions list of the EU in mid-2014, when the official was the Governor of the Krasnodar territory. In the official EU document on sanctions said that Tkachev was awarded the medal “For liberation of Crimea” – for assistance in the annexation of the Ukrainian Peninsula. It was called one of the first who expressed support for the appointees of the Kremlin in the Crimea.
