Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton in Montreal, scored the second win of the season.
Both pilots of “Mercedes” simultaneously failed the start of the race – Vettel with a third position burst. Rosberg after slight contact with Hamilton was forced to cut the turn and ended up in the basement of the top 10.
In the Ferrari decided their pilots to the tactics of three pit stops. Vettel during the race ahead of Hamilton for 13 seconds – this was clearly not enough to hold an extra stop and to be ahead of the Briton. After the last pit stop, Hamilton was ahead of Vettel in 7.4 seconds – the Germans gradually reduced the gap, but to close the distance attack failed.
Company Hamilton and Vettel on the podium of the Grand Prix of Canada was Valtteri Bottas, for the first time in the season came in the top 3.
