Former world Boxing champion retired

Экс-чемпион мира по боксу завершил карьеруOne of the best boxers in the history of Uzbekistan Ruslan Chagaev retired from professional sports.

His last fight on a professional ring Chagaev held in March this year 37 – year-old Uzbek lost to Australian Lucas Browne and lost the WBA title, but later rival failed a doping test and belt back in the hands of the “White Tyson”.

“Ruslan officially retired because of problems with vision. We suggested and could arrange to Chagaev a good farewell fight, a rematch with the same brown. But he decided to complete the speech, health is more important”, – said the Manager of the boxer Timur Dugashev.

Chagaev Amateur Boxing has been twice world champion and twice became the best boxer of Asia. With just three defeats in 85 fights as an Amateur Chagaev in 1997 he had his debut fight in the Pro ring.

First big success came to Chagaev in 2006-m year, when Ruslan in Hamburg defeated Ukrainian Vladimir Virchis and became Intercontinental
champion in the WBA and WBO. A year later Chagaev sensationally dealt with the Russian giant Nikolai Valuev and became the WBA champion.

Chagaev had twice to defend his title before in 2009, the year in Gelsenkirchen suffered early defeat from Vladimir Klitschko. After that Chagaev’s career went into decline soon Ruslan lost to Alexander Povetkin, and ended his career with a defeat against Lucas brown.
