Foreign businessmen complain about the deterioration of the business climate in Russia

The Russian Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs (RSPP) jointly with the Agency FleishmanHillard Vanguard conducted a study “Assessing foreign business environment in Russia”.

According to the data, 77% of the foreign businessmen noted the deterioration of the business climate in the country for 2015: 53% of respondents believe that the business climate has worsened, and 24% — slightly deteriorated. Only 6% of respondents noted a slight improvement in the business climate in Russia, 17% of respondents have not noticed changes in the business environment, according to “Газета.Ru”.

Compared with 2014 increased the percentage who noted the lack significant changes. While the percentage reporting a significant deterioration in stable: 53% in 2015 compared to 55% in 2014.

The most acute problems facing the international business in Russia in 2015, recognized the growth of prices and tariffs (55%), lack of qualified personnel (49%), high administrative barriers (41%). Also a big role play: the difficulty with access to credit (35%), corruption in government (34%), political uncertainty (29%), insufficient protection of property rights and contractual rights (29%), lack of infrastructure (24%) and ineffective court system (23%).

“Foreign investors note a significant impact of economic challenges on the business climate in Russia. Thus in contrast to 2014, the year 2015 marks the decline of influence of political stability on the business climate: by 53 percentage points with 82% in 2014 to 29% in 2015 and increasing role of the factor of availability of qualified personnel. For this indicator, there has been a return to trend in 2013: 50% in 2013 and one of the leaders of the rating, corresponding to an increase of 22 percentage points in 2015 compared with 2014. Like last year, one of the most important factors influencing the business climate in the country, respondents believe the growth of prices and tariffs, similar 2014 indicator — 55%”, — underlines the General Director of FleishmanHillard Vanguard Elena Fadeeva.
