For the crisis not to leave

The Russians what they want from the new state Duma
Yesterday VTSIOM has presented research devoted to the problematic background of the spring and summer of 2016 and is aimed at the study of those problems which excite citizens of the country at the entrance to the campaign for elections of deputies of the state Duma.

Respondents, in particular, it was proposed to answer the question, what is the problem as of may of this year they consider to be key for Russia as a whole. The top 10 most popular answers included problems of the economy (17%), low wages and standard of living (15%), unemployment (13%), health (13%), high inflation, rising prices (11%).

It is noteworthy that the value of the factor of economic problems is gradually decreasing. So, back in January it had allocated 23% of the citizens, and a month later to 19%. The same situation with the problem of inflation and rising prices in January on this issue indicated 20% of respondents. However, the “regular” population of concern, such as problems in health, education, crime, pensions, show a tendency to increase. Sociologists also point out that “social well-being of Russians has worsened since the end of 2014 until January 2016. “After that, the indicators stabilized and partially even increased,” they say.

VTSIOM Director General Valery Fedorov believes that the current crisis is perceived by the public consciousness relatively quiet. Although it was difficult, but not so traumatic as the crisis in the 90-ies. “Crisis “for sale” is getting worse and worse. Already tired of everything to be frightened, to be afraid. If current trends in the next few months we expect the intensification of the process of “change agendas”. The agenda will be the crisis to go further”, – the expert believes.

To advance so will the “post-crisis agenda”, and in any case, the political forces it is important to seize the moment. “He who will not catch it, is clearly going to lose. The one who will catch significantly strengthen its positions in the elections of 2016”, – said the head of the polls, adding that now there is a demand for new faces and changes, but without revolutions.

In turn, the head of the Institute of socio-economic and political studies Dmitry Badovsky believes that deafness to public inquiry in election campaigns may in the end do political parties stall barrier in the state Duma. “You can’t leave the old baggage, the old merits. People are paying more attention to political parties, MPs reflected the agenda that most worries them at the moment”, – said the expert.

She recalled that the elections to the state Duma for the first time after a long break will be held under a mixed system: 250 deputies will be elected on party lists and 250 in single – mandate constituencies. This leads, according to Badovsky, that deputies should largely provide the function of representative government, “predstavitelstvo in the best interests of the people, including in the dialogue with the Executive power in the center and on the ground.” The analyst, as well as Valery Fedorov believes that in society there is a demand for change, but not the revolution. “Here we have not all right in healthcare, we need a change. And you as candidates who are going to make laws, and then defend our interests before the Minister of health tell us, do you understand what we need change in health care that you will make and will you be able to do it at all”, – concluded Badovsky.
