Fighter of the Russian armed forces su-27 in the night of Friday, violated the airspace of Estonia in the area of the island Vaindloo.
This was stated in the main staff of the defence Forces of the country.
“At 2:38 in the night of Friday in the area of the island Vaindloo in the airspace of Estonia without permission entered the aircraft of the armed forces of the Russian su-27 and held in the airspace of Estonia for less than minutes”, – said the representative of the headquarters.
According to him, “the transponder of the aircraft was on, the flight plan was not submitted, and the aircraft did not maintain radio contact with Estonian air traffic controllers”.
The foreign Ministry on Friday summoned the Russian Ambassador in Estonia and handed him a note.
According to the military of Estonia, “this is the fifth this year in the event of a breach of Russian air force air borders” of the country. In 2015, the air border of Estonia FSI Russian planes violated three times in 2014 – eight times, mostly in the area of the island Vaindloo in the Gulf. Vaindloo, is the most Northern Estonian island. The Estonian coast is 25 km away (16 miles) South of the island, the Finnish – 50 to the North.
