Estonian military accused Russian aircraft violating airspace

A Russian military plane An-72 violated the air border of Estonia. This was stated in the Main staff of the defence forces of the Republic.

“On Monday, the Russian military aircraft an-72 at 18.23 GMT entered the air space of Estonia near island Vaindloo in the Gulf. The aircraft was in Estonian airspace for a minute and a half. Its transponder has been enabled”, – stated in the message.

It is noted that in radio contact with air traffic control service the intruder did not enter.

Because of the incident, the Russian Ambassador in Tallinn were invited to the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Estonia, where he was handed a note of protest.
