Elections in Georgia ended: first results

According to Georgia Online, the results of the exit polls conducted by GFK, the opposition party of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili’s United national movement is gaining from 32.74% of the vote, the party of former Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili’s Georgian dream and 39.9%, respectively. The five-percent barrier also overcame the party Alliance of Patriots of 5.76%, according to GFK.

According to exit poll company TNS, the Georgian dream gains of 53.8%, United national movement – 19%. According to these results, the Parliament held only these two parties.

The publication notes that TNS conducted the exit poll by the order of four television stations – public broadcaster, GDS, Maestro and Imedi, the last three are somehow connected with Bidzina Ivanishvili and the Georgian dream support.

At the same time, according to the newspaper, company GFK conducted exit poll for TV channel Rustavi 2. The company in 2012 was the closest to real results. There were interviewed 10 thousand people in 220 stations. According to the Central election Commission of Georgia as of 17:00 the voter turnout was 42,05%.

We will remind that on parliamentary elections of 8 October, the citizens of Georgia elected 150 deputies for a four year term. The election was contested by 19 political parties and six electoral blocs.
