Deposit rates in Russia fell to a two-year low

In the second decade of July, the average maximum interest rates on deposits in the ten largest Russian banks declined to 8.85 percent. This is stated on the website of the Central Bank.

Thus, the interest rate fell to the lowest level since mid-June 2014, when the yield on deposits amounted to 8.83 percent. In the first week of July 2016 this indicator was equal to 9.13%, follows from materials of Bank of Russia.

When calculating average rates are used as the data of the savings Bank, VTB 24, Promsvyazbank, Alfa Bank, Gazprombank and a number of credit institutions.

In early June, the maximum interest rate on deposits amounted to 9.43%.

The Bank of Russia on June 10 decided to reduce the key rate by 0.5 percentage points to 10.5 percent.
