Crimeans will return the money invested in banks of Ukraine

The inhabitants of the Peninsula compensate for the contributions over 700 thousand roubles.

Today, March 3, starts compensation payments to depositors of Ukrainian banks, whose assets were blocked after the reunification of the Crimea with Russia. These payments will affect the inhabitants of the Peninsula, whose balances exceeded 700 thousand rubles, as earlier investors had already been disbursed to 700 thousand rubles. Compensation claims 9.3 thousand Crimeans. The funds will be issued at the offices of GenBank and RNCB from 3 March until 31 may 2016.

For this purpose the authorities of the Republic of Crimea will allocate more than 1.4 billion received from the sale of the sanatorium “foros”, which previously belonged to Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky. It was bought by public organization “Federation of trade unions of the Republic of Tatarstan”.

In July 2015 the representatives of the DND said about filing a lawsuit to Russia “on the protection of lost in Crimea investment.” Moscow these claims refused to admit.
