Interesting photo project by the Italian photographer.
Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti spent 18 months in different countries, removing children from their most precious toys. He noted that all children are alike — they just want to play. However, the difference between them lies in the method of this game.
In developed countries children are more attached to their toys. Galimberti took a bit of time in order to get permission to touch them. In poor countries, he was able to establish contact with children and to win.
Toys also reflect the external world in which the child lives. The financial situation of the family and especially the organization of everyday life influence the choice of toys.
This project became a kind of anthropological study, not just an amusing diversion.
