Chechnya and Ingushetia declare joint war on Wahhabism

Chechnya and Ingushetia intend to declare a joint war on all forms of extremism, including the manifestations of Wahhabism.

On the evening of 4 February, said the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, speaking about his conversation with the leader of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov and reached agreement on jointly combating and countering any forms of extremism, including Wahhabism. Kadyrov thanked Yevkurov for strong condemnation of Wahhabism and support for the resolution of the Majlis at the meeting in Magas.

The Chechen leader said that the Republic was visited by a delegation from Ingushetia which have discussed plans of joint actions, since both republics are interested in peace and stability.

Also Kadyrov has commented on messages about the allegedly existing intention to unite the two republics, calling them provocative. He recalled that the Ingush and Chechens are brotherly peoples, but each has their own goals and problems.
