Bulgaria supports the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine and is very concerned about the escalation of the conflict in the country.
This was during a speech at the UN General Assembly, said the President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev.
“The recent escalation of the conflict in Ukraine is of deep concern. Any attempt to destabilize Ukraine is unacceptable. Bulgaria strongly supports the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine,” – said Plevneliev. He noted the lack of recognition of Sophia annexation of Crimea and called for full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
“My country reiterates its call for the full realization of the Minsk agreements, and reiterated its consistent policy of non-recognition of illegal annexation of Crimea in accordance with the resolution of the UN General Assembly and the decision of the Council of the European Union”, – said the President of Bulgaria. According to him, the time of dividing the world into spheres of interest of individual States passed.
“We don’t want to go back in a time when the larger States were allocated their spheres of influence. Cannot allow “political interests” to divide and occupy sovereign States or to create frozen conflicts,” added Plevneliev.
