British foreign Ministry: Russia is moving in the opposite direction from the lifting of sanctions

Russia is moving in the opposite direction from the lifting of sanctions on the political situation in Britain

МИД Британии: Россия движется в противоположную сторону от снятия санкций

By its actions in Ukraine Russia is moving in the opposite direction from the lifting of sanctions by Western countries.

This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of great Britain Philip Hammond, informs Reuters, writes UKRINFORM.

“If Russia wants the sanctions lifted, its course of action fully understood. It should fully comply with their commitments under the Minsk agreements”, – said Hammond.

“Unfortunately, over the last few months we see an increase in the number of violations of the ceasefire. Thus, we seem to be going in the opposite direction in recent weeks and months,” stressed Hammond.

So, international observers are warning about the increasing violence in Eastern Ukraine and claim that the militants, supported by Russia, returned the heavy weapons back on the front line.

In turn, Western Nations also say they have satellite images, videos and other evidence that Russia is supplying the rebels and that Russian troops involved in the conflict.

“We must not forget that it was the invasion of sovereign territory of Ukraine. Russia illegally annexed the Crimea in international law. Russia is the aggressor in this conflict,” concluded the British Minister.

As UKRINFORM reported, earlier Philip Hammond said that Russia is a threat to all of disregard for international law and norms.

I will remind, the other day, Britain called on Moscow to return the Crimea to Ukraine.
