They adorn our capital.
The first murals in the history of mankind was the image of the mammoth, scratched on the rocks sharp stones. Gradually the tools of art has improved, and artistic skills of muralistov improved. Monumental painting appeared on the walls of temples and wealthy homes. Sometimes the murals are the only surviving paintings of any era.
The word “mural” comes from the Latin murum, which means “wall.” The founder of the modern moralistic considered the Mexican artist Diego Rivera, created in the thirties of the last century, several famous “wall works” in San Francisco, Detroit and new York, not counting the murals in his native Mexico city. And in the twentieth century the biggest platform for muralov became the Berlin wall, which is painted only on the part of West Berlin.
In recent years, the wall painting is “registered” in Ukraine, and in some places it may even claim the role of mass art in Kiev appeared about fifty muralov, which seem to turn the city into a huge art gallery.
