Bolivia – a country that chooses the right path?

Bolivia – the country is truly outstanding. On the one hand, it is rich in oil, gas, other important natural resources. On the other hand, is a very poor country where the poverty level reaches 50% or even more. Why Russia is cooperating with Bolivia? Why America strives to be in friendly relations with this country? In this connection, in the presence of the natural wealth of the country’s population lives in such terrible conditions?

Боливия – страна, которая выбирает правильные пути?

Let’s start with the history of the state. Bolivia is in Central South America and bordered by Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru. His landlocked country does not have, but there is a contract with Peru for nearly a century the lease of coastal land to create a port there.

The history of Bolivia, like many other, especially Latin American, countries is difficult and involves many wars for natural resources, conquests, defeats. There were, of course, and a big victory, but everything in order.
In the XVI century the territory of Bolivia, which we now know was won by the Spaniards. And admittedly, the Spanish have raised this country to a proper level. The city of Potosi became the world’s largest industrial center, and the population not far behind.

In 1825, Upper Peru was named Bolivia, gained its independence, and renamed at the same time.
In the late nineteenth century there was a war with Chile over control of natural deposits nitrate in which Bolivia lost its access to the Pacific and control fields. In the XX century the government was defeated again in the war with Paraguay and lost the Gran Chaco. I must say that Chakka war was the bloodiest Latin American war of the century.

In 1952 the Bolivian revolution, the fruits of which was the tin-mining industry. After 12 years there was a military coup, and therefore the President was rené Barrientos Ortuno, a zealous dictator who calls himself a conservative.

He successfully suppressed all rebellion against his regime, sparing no victims. Even Che Guevara himself wanted to overthrow the regime Ortuno, but that helped the CIA, so a detachment of the famous revolutionary was defeated.

After Ortuno was killed in a plane crash, Bolivia, the shocking military coups. One after the other stand the people in power, but their overthrow, revolution and rebellion does not cease to be major events in the country: Alfredo Ovando Candia Juan Jose Torres, Hugo Banzer Suarez, Juan Pereda Asbun and many others fought for the presidential seat under the sun in Bolivia.

And only when the President of the country was Evo Morales, by the way, the first President of Indian, the state breathed freer. In 2014, he was re-elected President for the third time.
Diplomatic relations of Bolivia with the Russian Empire were established in 1898, and with the Soviet Union in 1945. In 1991, Bolivia has recognized the Russian Federation after the dissolution of the Union.

Already during the reign of Morales, in 2009, Gazprom signed with the Bolivian company YPFB agreement on geological studies of deposits, Acero, located in the oil and gas area.
This country is a major supplier of not only gas and oil but also silver, iron, lead, gold, zinc, tungsten and many other minerals. The cooperation between the two countries is mutually beneficial, because Russia is in natural resources is also not very limited.

Therefore, so far, Bolivia and Russia are friends, and just recently entered into force into force of the agreement on cooperation on atomic energy to peace, of course, goals. Improvement in infrastructure, energy, isotope production for medicine, agriculture, industry wants to implement a small, but strong in Bolivia with the help of Russia.

To control this activity will be the first coordinating Committee, which will create two countries. Also in El Alto will be built a centre for nuclear research and technology, which is a joint project of the two countries.
In contrast, the relationship between America and Bolivia are not so positive and friendly. Now the Latin American country is ruled not by the person who is asking for the help of the CIA, and indeed such methods in the country is not practiced.

In General, the bilateral U.S.-Bolivian relations entered into force in 1849, but with the inauguration of President Morales, relations with America have deteriorated to the point that the United States Agency for international development banned to operate in the territory of Bolivia, and the American Ambassador was expelled.

The reason is that the new President was suspicious of the American government in plotting a coup in his country. States are known for such coups in Latin America and the Middle East, so the charge was not groundless.

In 2009 relations were renewed. Now the United States supply of Bolivia vehicles, medical instruments, and Bolivia U.S. – oil, jewelry, nuts, tin

The only and serious problem in Bolivia is the production of drugs. In large quantity they grow Coca leaves, which by themselves are not harmful and are used for different purposes, including medical. But traffickers pose of them cocaine, which then spread around the world. Perhaps this is the reason why this country still can’t get up from his knees socially. One way or another, struggle with Bolivian traffic is within the country.

But with regard to other spheres of activity, while Bolivia cooperates mostly with Russia (especially in the nuclear field) and is watchful in US, in the world is clearly safer.
