Belarus ‘ GDP fell by 4 percent

The gross domestic product of Belarus in January-February 2016 decreased in comparison with January-February 2015 by 4% and amounted 141,5 rubles.

Industrial products produced by 121.5 trillion Belarusian rubles, or 5.6% less than in January-February 2015, BelTA informs with reference to the national statistics Committee.

Agricultural products (farms of all categories) produced 12.7 trillion rubles, which is 2.4% more than in the same period of 2015. Investments in fixed assets for the two months amounted to 22.7 trillion – 24.6% less compared with January-February 2015.

In January-February of the current year at the expense of all sources of funding commissioned 746,1 thousand square meters of housing, up 25.2% compared with the same period last year.

Retail trade turnover in January-February decreased by 0.2% to 53.8 trillion. Wholesale trade turnover for the period decreased 8.6% to 98.1 trillion.
