Ahead of a meeting of the trilateral contact group on settling the situation in Eastern Ukraine, Russia instructed the so-called DNR and LNR. This was stated on September 7 in the program “the Big interview” with Yevgeny Kiselyov (NewsOne TV channel, Kyiv) former Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Roman Bezsmertny, who was also a representative of Ukraine in the political subgroup of the trilateral contact group.
“During the negotiations, Russia has consistently insisted that after Ukraine officials said the DNI, LC. So we three times had to listen one and the same. When I once again urged them to agree on a text, they began by parts to name the same text. Sometimes it was not in a diplomatic format, so called dog abuse…”, — said the diplomat.
According to him, once the representatives of the Ukrainian side in the political subgroup was late for a meeting. “When we entered the room we heard that there was the instruction: Gryzlov (Boris Gryzlov, the Russian representative in the contact group — BelaPAN.) and representatives of the Russian Federation in the political sub-group instructed the representatives of Donetsk and Lugansk, what is necessary to tell to Ukrainians. It was a confirmation of what was talked about on the script,” said the immortal.
He recalled that the Minsk negotiations started almost two years ago, the decision on this format was adopted “Norman Quartet” (Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France). Immortal also recalled that during the first meeting of the contact group the parties agreed on signing a Memorandum of understanding and willingness to work on a document.
“Then the parties to the negotiations said that they are ready to work on this text, which, among other things, discussed the UN security Council,” — said the diplomat. Under the Memorandum then signed by the representative of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, Russia’s representative Mikhail Zurabov and “some citizens of Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Carpenter. “However, the signatures from a legal point of view, do not provide any legitimacy to this document. No DND and LNR in the documents did not appear” — said the immortal, adding that the trilateral contact group — Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE as a mediator.
“Just in two meetings I realized that everywhere is the same, all considering the same problem, although the task of “Normandy four” — to set a goal, Ministers in the same format — to generate the task, and the task of the contact group to make a decision and find answers to these challenges. Well, the sub-group is a laboratory of ideas,” said the immortal.
At the same time, he called the Minsk process on the settlement of the situation in Ukraine “balancing on the edge. “It is from this process depends on whether the task was done to prevent a Third world war”, — said the Ukrainian diplomat.
As previously reported by BelaPAN, the next round of negotiations on settlement of the situation in the South-East of Ukraine was held in Minsk on 7 September. Following the meeting of trilateral contact group, the special representative of the OSCE Chairman Martin Sajdik said that on the issue of withdrawal of forces and means from the contact line in the Donbas agreement yet.
Sidik also said that September 8-10, will visit Moscow, where he will discuss with the Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov and Russian representative in the contact group Boris Gryzlov, the results of the Minsk process. “I would like to hear what the prospects are seen (in the situation) from the Russian side, how she sees the future of our work, the future of my own work,” said Sidik.
The next meeting of the contact group in Minsk scheduled for September 21.
