Battle for the throne in the realm of the dead

Битва за трон в царстве мёртвых

In Aleppo, Syria there are fights. All say: the outcome of the battle will determine the winner in the war. And here are going to fight Assad’s troops with the allied Lebanese and Iranians, Islamists are entirely wild, on the one hand, and,on the other, as it were “civilized”. And fly Laden bombs Russian “backfire”, iron city American superiority” and the French “Rafale”. Awards will be broken-down into the gravel of the ruins of Aleppo.

And will look like a victory in Syria? It is clear that the victors, whoever they may be, will receive the ruins of towns and villages, the crowds of frantic, terrified, hungry and poor people. The same was the Western regions of the USSR in 1944, Germany, Poland and Yugoslavia in 1945. After the war, and the winners of our compatriots, poles, Yugoslavs, Greeks, and defeated the Germans, Japanese and Italians – began to live, to revive and raise their country. After bloody wars was restored in both Korea, Vietnam and Lebanon. The local people also had one goal – recovery from ashes and healing. Former soldiers of the Wehrmacht and the Japanese army, Bandera and “forest brothers”, soldiers of “home army” and the Chetniks, Saigon soldiers and the Lebanese “Crusader” came out of the camps, left the forest hideouts and mountain refuges and, though overwhelmed by different feelings were going to build and plow. In post-war Lithuania to neighbouring farms could live and work, the former red army and the “forest brothers”, the factories of Toulouse worked beside former Resistance fighters and the Vichy police.

But stripped from the enemies of Syria is a very different reality. There war medieval and religious in which the enemy is subject to extermination or exile. “Christians to Beirut, the Shia in the ground!” – is the slogan of the Syrian rebels. About what the fate of the Yazidis at the hands of the Islamists, known around the world. And although the Sunnis in Syria make up the majority of the population, their fate in case of a victory alavista-Shiite-Christian coalition (i.e. the Syrian army and its supporting Iranian, Lebanese, Iraqi and Russian forces) is unenviable, because they raised anti-government uprising, they are the backbone of the anti-Assad troops. Their atrocities, their mass betrayal of the regime and the desertion peresadovka forces will not forgive: in 1982, the year Assad’s troops Sr., suppressing the uprising of the Sunnis, wiped off the face of the earth the city of Hama center of the rebellion. Now all of Syria may be a solid Hama. It’s not because Assad is a monster, and his troops consist of bloodsuckers, but simply because to live close to the Sunnis and the Syrian national-religious minorities will not be able – too much blood spilled. It is clear that after the defeat of the Sunni insurgents will not take on any positions in the state apparatus and the army, to push their business and to push them as such – then reconciliation is absolutely impossible.

That in case of victory of the Islamists in Syria will not remain a single Alawite, Shia, Christian or Kurd, and say nothing – all the activity of the rebels demonstrates this.

If the war in Syria will end, the country, regardless of who wins, will be a scorched desert. If the Islamists win, then Syria will not remain the slightest of educated and qualified people (it is very often minorities), and the country wild, will turn into something similar to present-day Somalia, where the chaos and anarchy ruled the gang of Pithecanthropus “Kalash”. And if you win Assad coalition, then Syria will simply become deserted: because 70% of its population is Sunni. By the way, in the unfortunate Aleppo, which is so fiercely fighting, the latter as much as 80%. And the Christian and Alawite neighborhoods that flourished before the war, has long been destroyed and depopulated…

Aleppo, or rather what remains of it after the battle, will become the prototype of the future of Syria. The winner will receive nothing. A huge cemetery of hundreds of thousands (God forbid – not million!) people, the tomb of an ancient civilization, the burial of another recent prosperity and hope. The Ghost of one’s former life, the shadow disappeared in the country. Dead land that no one and no reason to revive to life. What flag will rise above the realm of the dead, who will be the caretaker of this mournful Vale, and how he will be referred to the President, Caliph, or something else – will have no value.
