“Day of the Minusinsk tomato” has been held since 2004 (in 2008, the festival is recognized as the boundary) to the city Day. On this day the streets of Minusinsk traditionally held bright costume parade “Tomato show”, exhibition and competition “Made in Siberia” exhibition and sale and rides. The main event of the festival is the competition for the largest grown on earth Minusinsk tomato (and the competition Commission vigilantly normal amount of chemicals in tomatoes are admitted to the competition). The record remains a tomato weighing 2 kg. 146 grams, grown in 2011; now the winner is a tomato weighing 1 kg. 878 grams – the second largest in the entire 13-year history of the competition.
