In the comments to my article “the passion of the Soviet passport” was touched upon a very interesting subject that I would particularly like to pay attention to.
In any military school of the Soviet Union learned the same motley crowd, what was the entire population of the country at the time. Therefore, for various offenses the students often drop out of schools. Some of them have made a conscious offense, realizing that military service is not their calling.
As a rule, the studies at the military school counted the young man’s account of army service. I think this is better, I can tell those of our users that they had learned (judging by the comments, such at MP a lot).
In the schools of civil aviation, organized in a military type situation has been the opposite – the period of study, in the case of payments not included in period of service in the army.
In my opinion, it was unfair, since the conditions of life in a military school and school of civil aviation practically did not differ.
In 1982, I met two graduates from the Trinity ATPA, which were truly in an idiotic situation: both, after graduating from College, received their diplomas, but for some offenses had not been awarded the title of officer of the Soviet army. So in the fall they should have been called up for military service.
Must admit that judging by the behavior of these children, the command school, punishing them in such a way, acted quite rightly – the staff were great!
Not only that, each of them received the rank of officer, and the school itself they managed to not finish on the first attempt, and the second: both were at one time expelled from the Slavic ATUGA – one from the second year and another from the third. That is, the diploma of secondary technical education they have spent, respectively, five and six years old! And now these two slobs, one of whom is 23 and the other 24 years, we still had a two-year service in the army! Not bad, huh?
After thinking a bit, they decided: let’s ask in the military to them, as graduates, was sent to serve in the air force, in order they could remain to enlist, because were fans of aviation and could not imagine his life without her…
That’s just their plans were never realized.
In the military, in principle, was not opposed, BUT there was HER Majesty the distribution list (who, where and how much to call), which either do not have required experts in aviation, whether their requirement they had in limited quantities.
All these attempts failing grade in your life to focus on the fact that the Soviet air force suffers from a severe shortage of graduates were selected – we have no such orders, and that’s it!
In short, common sense and the interests of the state was defeated by the paper the planned call, a top-down…
As a result, one of the graduates (by the way, they knew well!) he served two years in the artillery, and another in the company of protection… And, after demobilization, none of them did not want to connect my life with aviation.
Thus, the state had wasted money on training of two professionals who not only went to military or civil aviation, but not even fulfilled the three years of the due date after graduation…
