The tradition to bring in the existing urban environment bright accents in the form of art objects are extremely popular all over the world. The Archuleta has remembered the most interesting examples of this “art intervention”.
The genre of the creation of works of art intended for placement on the city streets, commonly called public art, and his range is extremely wide. It could be sculptures, and installations, and video projections, and graffiti, and even performances. As a rule, works of public art appear with the filing and with the financial support of the city authorities, so that their number on the streets of cities directly depends on the openness of the latter to the experiments.
Perhaps the most advanced in this sense can be considered as new York, London, Berlin and Vienna, where the creation of artistic objects somehow included in the budget of any new large-scale construction.
Consistently
In principle, the objects of public art are created to last. However, some of them are so expensive to the public that remain in place for many years, gradually becoming the iconic sights of the city. For example, the famous mirror bean by Anish Kapoor – the project “Cloud gate, installed in Chicago, – the number of tourist snapshots can be compared to the statue of Liberty, and the Love sculpture by Robert Indiana gave the name to the Park in Philadelphia and sparked a wave of imitations around the world.
Clouds and waterfalls “Big Apple”
In new York, of works of public art are met almost everywhere – there are so many that the city has already published several guides on works by contemporary street art. This is not the limit: each year the collection adds several new masterpieces, the creation of which attracted the best architects and artists of our time.

The installation was a large pavilion, where visitors can go inside and feel the scale of the littering of our cities.
And next year the famous Briton Thomas Heatherwick will need to publish your project for the new area of Hudson yards, which is being built on a former railway marshalling site. Bruin ambassadors
Not far behind new York and Berlin – a city where fun works of modern art are met almost everywhere. But if to speak about their issues, unlike overseas counterparts, there is the undisputed leader – the bear, symbol of the German capital. Today doesn’t seem to find a man who would, having been in Berlin at least once do not come face to face with a brightly painted bear, as if dancing with raised up legs.
All these bears in a town of about 150, it all began in 2002, when Berlin hosted the first exhibition of United Buddy bears: painted by artists from different countries, bears stood in a circle in front of the famous Department store KaDeWe and held hands, calling on the world to tolerance and tolerance.
Since then the exhibition traveled to five continents, and a “bear Fund” Berlin continues to grow annually.
