Arkhangelsk diocese insulted the erotic exhibition of Picasso and Matisse

The Arkhangelsk eparchy condemned the show “Love Line. The eroticism in the works of the great masters of XX century”, which opened on 14 March at the Museum of fine arts of Arkhangelsk. According to the head of the missionary Department of the diocese Archpriest Eugene Sokolov, the display of such exposure during lent offensive and inappropriate. About it reports the local edition FlashNord.

“The inhabitants of the city probably have the right to know the names of their heroes. Know those who has managed a particularly humiliating to coincide with the opening of the exhibition to the beginning of lent and deliberately place it inside the Museum, where are kept ancient icons,” said Sokolov.

According to him, the exhibition has been allocated 450 thousand rubles. Archpriest called it pornographic and noted that the regional authorities and previously funded projects that promote promiscuity and sodomy.

The Museum has not yet commented on the situation.

At the exhibition “Love Line” presents lithographs from private collections. It includes works by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Egon Schiele and Paul Wunderlich. The exhibition will be open for another few months.

In 2012, the erotic engravings by Picasso condemned the Metropolitan of Novosibirsk and Berdsk Tikhon. According to him, the exhibition is refused even in Moscow, and in Novosibirsk only agreed to show it.
