National team of Ukraine on football has got a new head coach.
The Executive Committee of the football Federation of Ukraine at a meeting in the capital House of football has unanimously elected Andrei Shevchenko as their new head coach.
The coaching staff of ex-player “Dynamo”, “Milan” and “Chelsea” joined Mauro Tassotti, Raul riancho and Pedro Jara. Head of national teams Committee appointed Myron Markevych, and the position of sports Director teams assigned to Eugene Krasnikov.
Shevchenko will become the 12th coach in the history of the national team of Ukraine. It is significant that only two coaches on this list have never played in Kiev “Dynamo” (Markevich and the late Victor Prokopenko).
The football Federation of Ukraine has offered Shevchenko to lead the team in November 2012, but the best scorer in the history of “blue-yellow” refused as yet not enrolled on a coaching course and have not received a PRO license. In February of this year, Shevchenko became an assistant to former head coach Mykhailo Fomenko.
The official debut of Andriy Shevchenko as head coach of the national team of Ukraine will take place on the fifth of September – the day of the “blue-yellow” in an empty stadium at the NSC “Olympic” will play with Iceland.
